NO-FIX
SILK PAINTS can be used like any other silk dye
e.g. Silk Designer and Silk Express, except there
is no need for complicated fixation. This product
offers a quick and simple solution. To fix simply
run a HOT IRON over the finished painting. Paints
have a very soft finish. All the usual silk
painting techniques e.g. water based gutta, rock
salt effect, urea, colour mixing and blending, etc.
are entirely suitable and successful with NO-FIX
SILK PAINT. No-Fix paints can be used on all
natural fabrics. Colours on cotton are particularly
strong and should be dilluted with water by at
least 20%

The difference
between dyes and paints is : dyes form a chemical
bond , and became integral part of fabric and as
such do not change the feel and handle of fabric -
whilst paints are a water dispersion of pigments
(very fine particles) with added acrylic fixative,
which by its nature changes the feel of fabric.

Note
regarding freight;
Steamer is a bulky item. Freight is charged by
volume rather than by weight. Freight charges are
different for every separate destination, and can
be only determined by Postal authorities at time of
lodgement. Sending the steamer by a Freight Company
is not a cheaper solution unless you have a
personal Freight Company Account.

Successful
steaming is achieved only by correct combination of
steam and heat. The Steam must reach temperature as
close as possible to 100C (212F) and must be
allowed a free circulation through the silk
material. If correct temperature is reached, the
steaming process should last only between 40-60
minutes.

application: Gutta Applicator bottle must be
held at 90º to silk and the nib must always be
in contact with the material. Apply only a very
light pressure on the applicator. If applied
thickly, gutta will stick to the paper during
